Starting to put up the climbing wall

The other night, Bowers, Michael, Sharmishtha, Eriks, Sam, and Kate all came over to help start putting up our home climbing wall in our basement. Despite too many discussions, too few working power tools, and too many libations, we did actually get some stuff done.

I just set up a camera in the back corner and set it to take pictures every 5 minutes. So you can kind of get the "time lapse" effect if you click on the slideshow link (upper right) on the page with the pictures, and set the delay to one or two seconds.

Notes:

  • The strange orange light on the floor is a propane heater.
  • Rarely do beers get put down.
  • There seems to be an awful lot of discussion about how to do the very first step.
  • About halfway through, Sam seems to stop moving (see couch).

Enjoy: Pictures from putting up the home wall.

Cool you are putting up a wall and it looks like the ceiling height is a bit more suiting this time. Sam is the best! He goes 110 mph the whole day, when he stops you’d think he’s dead. There is just no waking him. Anyway, say hello to all those guys for me.

Yeah, the ceiling’s much better in this place. It’s a full 8 feet, which feels like twice as much as we were used to. The whole basement’s at least as big as the last place too, so as time and $$ permit, we should be able to fill it all out.

Agreed. Sam rocks. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of him (and everybody) this year. I’ll be sure to tell everyone you said hey.
